Very Descriptive Writing

Kia ora, bloggers Welcome to term 4! This week in literacy we had to describe a picture with five different sentences, it was quite fun doing this piece because I like writing, this is the picture we had to describe.

This is my description

As the sky rumbled the angry sea formed.
The wind howled threatening.
The waves violently moved the boat with force.
The clouds turned into a murky powerful grey.
The wind was shoving the bout side to side.

please tell me what you would write if you had this task, thanks for checking into my blog, I'll see you next time Kia ora :D

The Big Bad Wolf?

Kia Ora Bloggers over a couple of days in literacy we had to write things about wolves and what wolves did for the environment here is the work that I have done

In Yellowstone, the wolves regenerated the whole National Park they made a trophic cascade they saved the economic system they have introduced new life and animals.

In France the wolves can also be terrible, in France they got eradicated because they were killing many animals, but later on, they came back and killed many things one being killing 12,000 livestock animal mostly sheep the wolf was like a thief, the wolves were putting France citizens into a hard debt.

I think that wolves can be good and bad but I think wolves are amazing creatures from saving parts of the world's ecosystem to stealthy hunters.

What side are you on?

Silly Stupid Super Oil Spills

Kia ora bloggers Oil is in and around our world, even in places you wouldn’t imagine. We use oil for cooking but we also use crude oil. The pumping and transporting of crude oil around the globe often have environmental effects. We have looked at various texts and videos to learn about some of these effects, and it ‘good’ timing as there was a recent oil spill (24 July 2020) in Mauritius that we could investigate.
Check out my video to learn more about oil, and see the simulation we did in class about cleaning oil from water.

 Have you learnt about oil?

Powerful Parachute

Kia Ora Bloggers we had to make a parachute for inquiry we had a group of Me Ankit and Ollie we made our parachute out of masking tape, string, newspaper, and for the weights we had metal nuts we decided to make a parachute large so therefore I would have more surface area to stay in the air longer.

You must launch a parachute from a directed height (the top of the stairs in the maker space), safely down to a controlled landing in a target area. The Slowest Descent Wins.

we was going to add fabric on the bottom of our parachute but then we decided against that idea later on we had two other tests including our final test our first throw was 2.81 second then we decided to do it again and our next time was 3.21 seconds this was our final launch.

If I were to do this again I would spend more time working out a design. This is a picture of a parachute
have a great day blogger I'll see you next time thanks for checking in :)

My Mashup

Kia Ora bloggers, this week was the start of the new term this is my mashup.
For literacy, we made a science experiment with aspirin we had a crushed pill and a normal pill and we had to make a hypothesis of which pill we thought would dissolve quicker I chose the crushed pill and I was right this is the slide we worked on.

For our inquiry, we got told to do a worksheet about space there were 9 challenges and we had to get three in a row like noughts and crosses here are the challenges in case you want to do one. Thanks for checking in and have a good day! :)

QR code scavenger hunt with QR codes:
 The Solar System

Research the conditions on Mars and create a list of 10 materials/tools that you will attempt to bring with you on a mission to Mars.  Give each material/tool its own slide and explain why it needs to be brought to Mars.
Create an information poster that covers all the main points about the moon landing.  You will need to cover information such as astronauts, dates, time, information about the journey, what they did when they landed, what they took back with them, equipment etc
Research and create a presentation on how Astronauts do simple things while in space e.g. wash their hair. You would need to cover at least 4 different things.
There are lots of videos on youtube to access.
Ever wondered how much a rocket would cost to build? Check it out: https://www.rocketbuilder.com/
Create your own, share it and write about it. What is your rocket for?
Check out how NASA is in our homes and cities.
Create a presentation that teaches others about at least 5 things.
Design and create a space/planet landscape. You could make this into a diorama. Or simply a landscape drawing and/or painting.
A world of Data. Satellites in real-time.  Create a presentation (whatever you like) that explains satellites and tell us about one in particular (missions)- inc. what data it is collecting, how do we use this data on earth?
What is velcro used for in space?
Research the history of Velcro and create a presentation or animation about its uses in space.
Finished? Check this out. https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/menu/solar-system/

The Southern Lights

Kia ora bloggers.
Today we were learning about the southern lights we did an art piece of the southern lights this is my one.

The southern lights occur when electrically charged particles from the sun hits the atmosphere then atoms in the Earth's atmosphere collide with gases like oxygen and nitrogen, making those gases to emit light.
The southern lights are called "aurora australis" And the northern lights are called "aurora borealis" The northern lights are on my bucket list to see because they are just stunning, do you want to see the southern lights? Thanks for checking in on my blog, and have a great holiday! :D
